Schrodinger's Box

I am Carlos. I like many things: writing, movies, music, to considerably abridge my interests. Welcome and enjoy!

Except not really. I’m, of course talking about the new movie, Looper, which I’ve just seen and pulled apart with a couple of friends.

It was pretty good and I liked it, but I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to. Plot points with great potential either weren’t there or were dropped halfway into the movie. Certain plot points didn’t even have a purpose towards anything ever (I’m looking at you, Kid Blue…). It wasn’t incredibly mind-bending, but it was smart and clever when it wanted to be. The fact that it was advertised as an action movie kind of disappoints when you actually sit down to watch it, but if you don’t think of it as a full-blown action thriller, it’s fun to sit through. Also, I really liked Emily Blunt here for some reason.

Overall, I enjoyed it, despite certain plot elements and lack of really mind-blowing aspects. It’s a fun sci-fi thingy and worth spending the money to see it in theaters.

And that’s my fun weekend element for today (not that I’ve shared many others, but you get my point).
